What makes you sweat? For most guys, it’s more than just a hot day. During the cooler months, chances are it’s not the sun that’s getting you sweaty. How about your nerves? Or your workout? Is there anything that men’s grooming can do to help?

Your nervous system makes you sweat to manage your body temperature. It’s like the fan in your computer. You start to overheat, your body turns on the fan. Or in this case, it lets the sweat flow.Â
Research shows that “the primary controller of sweating is the integration between internal and skin temperatures.” Besides the outside temperature, there are many other factors that can make you sweat, including:

- Spicy foods
- Caffeine

What does that mean? The more efficient an athlete you are, the faster and greater amount you tend to sweat. It’s about your body’s ability to cool itself.
So the next time you’re stressed about being too sweaty, be proud. It’s a sign you’re in shape and that your body is functioning at its peak.
